Our venues across Melbourne offer a range of hospitality options including state of the art sports bars and bistros, wine bars, outdoor and family offerings and premier function spaces.PLG are dedicated to the development of our teams, we invest in our people and only want the most driven individuals to support our strategic plan for the future.What’s the opportunity?The Glasshouse is right in the heart of Caulfield and sits at the doorstep of Caulfield Racecourse.  Refurbished in 2017, The Glasshouse offers a family friendly environment where parents can relax with a meal and a drink while their children enjoy our large kids indoor / outdoor play area.  Customers love the outdoor beer garden during the summer months or they can enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine in our casual catch-up space, Throwing Stones.   Two function spaces, each one individual in their style and layout, a state-of-the-art Sports Bar and a large gaming room complete the venue. We are currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef who is ready to lead and inspire the team at The Glasshouse alongside our Head Chef. As part of the kitchen management team, we are looking for a strong leader who has exceptional people management skills. As Sous Chef, you will take real ownership over your team, leading and guiding them in the kitchen as well as owning all training. We are looking for someone who has a strong eye for detail, is passionate, creative and loves all things food. Working closely with our Head Chef you will have oversight to all aspects of the business including rostering, wage control, P&L, food quality, safety standards, stocktakes and much more. What are we looking for?Minimum 6 years’ experience post apprenticeshipExposure and experience in a large bistro/ function kitchen environment or similar fast-paced, high-volume kitchenAbility to manage a diverse team and staff training skillsAbility to implement, train and manage a Food Safety PlanDesire to have ownership over this role and push its growth within the businessAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesStrong planning and organisational skillsFlexibility to work across a range of hours including weekends and eveningsFull working rights within AustraliaThis exciting opportunity exists for a motivated, ambitious and hard-working individual to play a key role within a dedicated team.
