Assistant Manager

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to join the team at Highways in Springvale.This is a fantastic opportunity for a hospitality leader who enjoys being hands-on, thrives in fast-paced venues, and is passionate about delivering great customer experiences while supporting and developing a high-performing team.Working closely with the Venue Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the venue, supporting team leadership, compliance, gaming operations, customer service and overall venue performance.About the VenueHighways is located in the hub of suburban south-east Melbourne on the perimeter of Sportsbet Sandown Racecourse. Assistant Manager

Working closely with the Venue Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the venue, supporting team leadership, compliance, gaming operations, customer service and overall venue performance.

 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the day-to-day operations of the venue
  • Assisting in driving venue performance and achieving financial targets
  • Leading, coaching and supporting team members across the venue
  • Managing stock control and ordering processes
  • Supporting rostering, recruitment, onboarding and training
  • Ensuring high standards of customer service and venue presentation
  • Assisting with promotions, events and gaming operations
  • Maintaining strong compliance across gaming, liquor, TAB and venue operations
  • Supporting a positive and engaging team culture

 What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a hospitality leadership or management role
  • Strong understanding of venue operations and customer service
  • A positive, hands-on and team-focused leadership style
  • Ability to work well in fast-paced environments
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of gaming and compliance requirements is highly regarded
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays

 Essential Requirements

  • Current Victorian RSA
  • Current Victorian RSG
  • Current Victorian Gaming Employee Licence
  • Do Food Safely Certificate
  • Full Australian working rights
