We are currently seeking an experienced Full Time Commis Chef to join the friendly team at The Sugar Gum Hotel in Hillside with a real passion for food and hospitality, a head full of new ideas.
The Sugar Gum Hotel has cemented its place as Hillside’s favourite venue after an extensive renovation in 2019. There’s a spacious family bistro alongside a huge play area that keeps children entertained for hours.
The aptly named casual area, The Social, has fast become the go-to spot for people to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail or a casual catch-up with friends while snacking on bites from the modern tapas menu at an indoor or alfresco table.
There’s also a spacious gaming room and lots of spots to enjoy coffee and cake.
What are we looking for in a successful candidate?
- Experience of at least 2 years in a large bistro kitchen environment or a fast-paced, high volume kitchen
- Understanding of current Food safety legislation (HACCP)
- Excellent communication skills
- Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
