We are on the lookout for a full-time Head Chef to join the team at Highways in Springvale. We are looking for someone to bring their experience to lead the team and continue delivering expectational food and experiences to our customers. This role would include developmental coaching with industry-leading Leadership & Performance Coach.Successful candidates will be required to work a 7 day rotating roster, working day and night shifts. The annual salary for this role sites at $90k base dependant on experience. Duties & responsibilities:Implement and perform PLG workplace policies and proceduresManaging staff recruitment, rostering, supervision, communication, meetings and trainingPrepare, cook and serve food in accordance with menus ensuring high level of quality and presentation at all timesCreate and develop menus, specials and functionsManage food purchases, menu costings and monthly stocktakesOversee the appropriate receiving, storage, and rotation of foodSkills & qualifications: Cert 3 or 4 commercial cookers or equivalentFood Safety SupervisorFood handlers (optional)Experience in a large bistro kitchen or fast-paid, high volume kitchen understanding of current Food Safety Legislation (HACCP)COVID-19 Double Vaccination Status RequiredOn the doorstep of Sandown Racecourse, Highways has a large bistro to cater to families and events.
