PLG venue The Golden Fleece Hotel in Melton is looking for an experienced Full-Time Sous Chef to help lead and inspire the Kitchen team alongside the Head Chef.
What will my responsibilities be?
- Support the Head Chef in managing and training a diverse kitchen team
- Implement and manage Food Safety Plans
- Prepare and cook menu as per cooking guidelines and set standards
- Work in conjunction with the Head Chef to develop and implement menus
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- In conjunction with the Head Chef, lead the kitchen and maintain order during service times.
Qualifications and Skills
- Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookers or equivalent
- Full working rights in Australia
- Experience working in a pub/bistro environment
- Well-versed in all kitchen areas with hands-on experience
- Experience with kitchen operations and functions and ability to cook a broad range of food items
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work in a high-stress environment
- Flexibility to work a range of hours across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays
- Ability to follow and give directions when required
